Look like good drill bits. They are marked on the shank with HSS and fractional sizes. Nice huot drill index (USA made). The country of origin is not marked on the bits anywhere. I wrote Customer service and the Qual-Tech bits are a "high quality import from China." For the price, I knew they were not USA made. they appear to be a good set. i have a set of Matco, and Chicago Latrobe bits and I got these to use in a hand drill for general purpose work so my good bits wouldn't get dull and broken or missing. After I use them, I'll update my review. So far they look good and the tips are evenly ground if a little coarse. I check them with a magnifier against a set of Chicago Latrobes that I have laying around. i only checked against bits i have not used in the set. The USA C-L bits are much nicer.UPDATE: I used this set this weekend to drill some heat treated steel, and to drill through some spot welds in thin plate. I have learned the Chinese properly heat treat the 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 bits because that's what we use in the USA most often. The rest of the bits can be lower quality. I intentionally used off-size bits today, and these bits are very good for the price. The call center was right, these are a good quality import set of drills in HSS.I apparently didn't read the description very well or perhaps because I've been a welder then a plant maintenance electrician, I was pretty shocked when I opened the package. I'm like what???? I'm used to big drills and big drill indexes. I have one index over a foot long!So after the initial shock of it's tiny, tiny size, I was somewhat relieved to see a few of the more common drill bit sizes that one would expect to use around the house.I thought of returning it but decided to keep it for crafts. I do mean crafts. This index contains mostly very small drill bits. Maybe they will come in handy if and when I break out my scroll saw.I can't comment on the longevity because I haven't used them yet. I see some reviewers report that they break every one. Hhhmmm. That could be user error particularly with the smaller bits. It doesn't take much force/pressure to bend then break a thin drill bit.I bought this on a lightening deal so the pain wasn't as bad as full cost. But IMHO, I don't think it's worth it.The decision to keep was only justified by what I would call a niche product for crafts/hobbies.Now I will have to buy a hand drill because I don't think my chuck will close that small!Hope this helps anyone interested. I just wanted to let you know what you are getting. My chin hitting the floor was enough! lolOverall these are decent for the price which is pretty cheap. Hey a good set of 60 wire gauge drills would be more like $100.00 so if you need a great set for precise work then drop another 70 bucks. However I need the smaller #50-#60 mostly for drilling in wood. I am not trying to drill any metals and I am not expecting them to handle that. For what I needed to do they are just fine. If I were to need a set for more precise work in metal etc I would have dropped a C note on a better set.You can't spend $33.00 and expect a $120 set...seriously people. So far they have all been straight with the exception of the #54 which had a very slight wobble. But once it hit the wood it stopped obviously.Again...it's 33 bucks.....Nothing like the picture. Chinese junk. Lid doesn’t close. Huot is a great brand and this is not Huot. They put a picture and very little description to get you to buy then send something totally different. Don’t buy.Excellent Gift Set - My dad was so happy! There is a huge assortment of small to average bit sizes that are a dream for projects around the house and general maintenance. The bits come in a great metal case that is numbered for easy organization. Quality of the bits has been good so far not the absolute best I have seen but excellent for the price. The sizes are easy to match up to the task you are working on and make our projects a breeze to work on. Thanks for a great setBasic hobby set is right on for this inexpensive set. Would buy again.PRO:1. Arrived on time.2. It's exactly what I was looking for.3. Super small sizes to larger size, great for general use.CON:1. Price, yeah, I know, but come on, they are cheap bits.2. They are cheap and break like folks say, but they are not meant for many industrial applications at this price point.OTHER:1. Buy these if you are a shade tree guy.2. DON'T Buy if you are looking for industrial strength bits.3. These work in all sorts of devices, Dremel tool, cordless, corded, etc.OkDelivery was fast, ahead of schedule. Bits are indexed in a case that is stamped made in usa.although I doubt the bits themselves are made in North America. I have only used 2 bits so far. They worked well.Better than the cheap coated bits and reasonably priced. The quality isn't the same as the big dollar ones, but neither is the price. I am happy with them for what I paid.Baja calidad del acero en las brocasPerfect thanksLas brocas están muy bien y a buen precio.......
